Pebble Beach 2015

Monterey Week was amazing… again. There are so many events now, all overlapping, that you have to pick and choose what to do or you’ll go crazy trying to do everything. This year we checked out all the auctions, attended racing at Laguna Seca, dropped by Quail, and of course went to the Pebble Beach Concours.

At Laguna Seca we were guests of Bruce Canepa’s team and had a fantastic vantage point to watch some incredibly competitive racing. I’m all about driving (not showing) cars. So, to see cars worth many millions of dollars ripping around the track was fantastic!

Quail was the usual over the top display of great cars and food and wine galore. The tickets were $600 this year. Can you imagine? To me no car show in the world is worth that. But it’s Monterey Week and you just do it.

Pebble Beach at 6:00 o’clock in the morning, as the cars are driving onto the show field, is a special place. Even the most jaded car nut gets excited as these incredibly cool and beautiful cars come rolling through the dawn fog with the owners behind the wheel beaming like a little kid on Christmas morning. If you’ve never been there it time to go!
