A rare Allard joins the deGarmo Ltd. stable.

There are certain vintage sports cars that, to my eye, get it just right. From the body lines… to the overall  scale of the car…  to the color combination… to the exhaust burble… and this ultra-rare Allard K3 is just such a car and it is now a part of our private collection.   The concept behind Allards was to match a lightweight British body and chassis with large American V8 engines. Sound familiar? It should… Carroll Shelby did it years after Allard with enormous success.  The fact is that both Carroll Shelby and Zora Argus Duntov (of Corvette fame)  drove Allards in the early 1950’s.  Only 62 Allard K3’s were produced from 1952-1954. This car had one very long term owner  from sometime in the early 1960’s until the late 1990’s. The odometer reads 26,000 original miles. Our plan with this wonderful car is to drive the hell out of it. We may take it on Rich and Jean Taylor’s Mountain Mille rally in October, or possibly on the Copperstate 1000 in the spring. Stay tuned and follow our Allard exploits!
