Another fantastic deGarmo Ltd. Fall Rally

On October 20th we held the tenth annual deGarmo Ltd. “Fall Tour”… an informal gathering of clients, friends and fellow lead-footers who love to drive their vintage sports cars. There were 16 cars in all, including a Ferrari Luso, a Dino, two Aston DB’s, several Porsche 356’s, and an ultra rare Vignale bodied Cunningham C3 Convertible, one of five made and brought to the rally by the daughter of Briggs Cunningham himself! We gathered early for breakfast in Darien, CT and finally shoved off heading north around 9am. This year’s route was a memorable gem, with our favorite stretches being the upper part of Route 7 in Connecticut between Kent and Lime Rock, and Route 83 in Dutchess County, NY near Amenia. The fall leaves were ablaze, the sun was shining… it was just a fantastic day. After about three hours of driving we stopped for lunch at a wonderful spot called The Red Devon in Bangall, NY. After lunch everyone was on their own to continue rallying… or just head home… all of us no doubt feeling the kind of euphoria that only the smell of gasoline being devoured by thirsty carburetors and the harmony of dueling exhaust notes can evoke. When God created vintage sports cars, I’m pretty sure that days like this was the reason why.
