1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce Spider

Sold

Details

1965 is perhaps the most desirable year for the Giulia Spider as it was the final year of production before Alfa Romeo introduced the Duetto. The standard 1600 twin cam Giulia motor put out 92 horsepower making it a beautifully balanced car to drive. With the Veloce motor however, power was significantly increased to 129 horsepower, making it the overwhelming choice of collectors and enthusiasts alike. This lovely Giulia Veloce began its life in California. Detailed records show two west coast owners, one in Santa Cruz the other in Los Gatos. In 1989 the car came to Connecticut to a new owner, Mr. Stan Fisher. Clearly Mr. Fisher was a knowledgeable Alfa guy as legendary Alfa mechanic Keith Goring (Alfas Unlimited in Norfolk, CT) did much of his service work up until the time he sold the car in May of 2004 to the current owner. Since 2004 this lovely car has not been just a pretty face. The owner has regularly participated in vintage rallies: Going To The Sun in Montana, The Colorado Grand, The New England 1000… each event multiple times. So, it’s no exaggeration to say that this car is supremely dialed in for real driving. Even better, highly regarded engine builder Mr, Andy Greene of Savanah GA performed a complete, fully documented, top to bottom engine rebuild which was completed earlier this year, so the engine is now as new. Additionally, master restorer Wayne Carini of F40 Motorsports repainted the car for the owner in 2021. This car has been very well loved for a very long time and it shows in the way it looks and in the way it drives. The really good news? It’s time for a new custodian to take the reins! Additional details and underside photos available upon request. Asking $77,500/SOLD
