1949 Ford Custom Convertible
Details
Following World War II, Ford, like most American car companies, were limited to their pre-War designs and it wasn’t until 1949 that new designs were introduced. The ’49 Custom Convertible is a shining example of that immensely successful redesign, featuring the now iconic Bullet Nose Grille. Finished in its original colors of Midland Maroon with a maroon leather and tan cloth interior, all complimented by a black canvas top, this flawlessly restored car proved its impeccable condition by being awarded both a Dearborn Award, Ford’s highest honor, as well as an AACA 1ST National Award. Since then the car has been in a private Florida collection where it has been regularly exercised and meticulously maintained. It features the venerable 239 cubic inch 3.9 liter flathead V8 engine, and three speed manual transmission and a power convertible top. Asking $39,500.
