1961 Porsche 356B Roadster
Delivered new through famed Hoffman Motors on December 30, 1960, the very early history of this gorgeous, matching numbers car is unknown, but a very long term owner, we believe the second owner, sold it to a good client of ours who bought the car and promptly drove it from Georgia to northern New Jersey. The car ran and drove flawlessly the entire way… 1005 miles!
Once here, the owner’s fussy side took over and he commissioned Ray Kennett of BTO Auto Works, a Porsche 356 expert, to do a complete strip and repaint, back to the original factory delivered color of Heron Grey. Ray also did a complete interior retrim in this fabulous Connolly green leather.
The prior owner had a complete engine rebuild done on the original 1600 Normal motor, upgrading displacement with the “big bore” kit. Displacement is now 1720cc, roughly 95 horsepower.
Presented today in truly turn key condition, this car would show proudly at any concours and, given its bulletproof mechanical condition, would make for a wonderfully rally and event car. Price is $179,500.
